Bag Raiders (Chris Stracey and Jack Glass) are a duo DJ/Producer’s from Sydney, Australia. I don’t know what it is with those electro Australians but they sure know how to fun on some fun music. My good friend Matt told me about Bag Raiders one day after dinner and I didn’t like it at first and then after a few listens, I was hooked. They pretty much got me into DJ’ing other then Feist - My Moon My Man (Boys Noize Remix). Shooting Stars is one of Bag Raiders hit’s and it’s one of those summery feel good songs. The progression of this song builds up lyrically and melodically. Take a listen and enjoy what these aussies are doing.

“It could be said that in nearly every instant of a Luke Temple-penned song, there’s some great connection to his mild fascinations of human temperature and extensive fragility, all of which are engaging passages into the mirrored rooms of dappled hearts and absorbent heads that can’t help themselves from revolving and prowling and slinking. The places that the New Yorker, and arguably one of the finest young songwriters working, takes listeners are places that they would never venture to on their own, with their faculties intact, with half a mind because before they would know it, their solitude or whatever they had going for them at the onset would be quickly bewildered and deviled up with a feast of tormented benedictions to our common plights. We join him in his efforts, on his unearthings, where the things that he pulls from the ground, like carrots and potatoes are often surprising and near immaculate.” —Sean Moeller
I love how Edmonton’s Dylan Khotin-Foote (aka Kumon Plaza) weaves together his influences: 8-bit Nintendo game soundtracks, Krautrock and sure, throw in a little Caribou for good measure. He’s got a new self-release EP Cliff coming out soon on cassette tape from whence this track came. Message him for on his myspaces or twitters for more info.
